Lisa Clark Gonzalez and teen husband want custody of their baby

Lisa Clark Gonzalez, 39, and her husband Adrian Gonzalez, 17, went to court May 6 to try to get custody of their baby boy, who is cared for by a one-time friend of Gonzalez.

Lisa Clark, who now goes by the name Lisa Clark Gonzalez, 39, and her husband Adrian Gonzalez, 17, tried to gain custody Tuesday (May 6, 2008) of the baby boy their union produced. Attorneys for Gonzalez and Angela Perkins, Gonzalez' one-time friend and co-worker who has custody of the baby, reached a temporary decision on custody prior to a scheduled hearing at the Douglas County Courthouse.

The couple leaves the courthouse after an agreement is reached. They were denied custody but were reportedly "pleased" with the outcome.

Lisa Gonzalez last saw her son, Skye, on his first birthday. Gonzalez, formerly known by her maiden name, Lisa Clark, was serving time for helping her teenage husband escape from a group home. She and husband, Adrian Gonzalez, show a picture of their son earlier this year.

For his part, Adrian Gonzalez has largely avoided the media circus surrounding his 2005 marriage to a woman 22 years his senior.

The couple are fighting to regain custody. The case is pending in Douglas County Superior Court and no hearings are scheduled, Clark's attorney, Kim Dymecki, said Friday.

In February, Clark and her husband planned to move in together when the teen returned to Georgia from Texas, where he had been living with his mother, according to Judy Hayles, the teen's grandmother.

Gonzalez walked out of Metro State Prison in southeast Atlanta on Feb. 22. She served two years for helping her husband escape a group home in DeKalb County.

Clark reported to the Douglasville Probation Officer after leaving prison in February 2008.

Clark said freedom was "indescribable" in February 2008. The couple's baby, a 2-year-old boy Clark delivered in jail, was with Angela Perkins, Clark's one-time friend and co-worker.
