Lilburn officials recently released the city’s 2019 annual report offering an overview of accomplishments during the past year and a look ahead at several new projects. At the top of the list is the new, larger playground, restroom and parking at Lilburn City Park. A small pavilion is currently being added at the playground, with a designated area for stroller parking.

New housing opportunities in the city include senior housing, individual homes, and attached townhomes. Lilburn is also home to a new 350,000+ square foot office/distribution center on Indian Trail Lilburn Road. Several commercial projects are expected in 2020, including new commercial buildings on Main Street between Railroad Avenue and First Avenue.

Construction of the new Lilburn Police Headquarters and Municipal Court Complex at 4600 Lawrenceville Highway is almost complete. The old police building at 76 Main Street will be removed to make way for an open-air pavilion with restrooms and other public amenities at the park.

Portions of Poplar Street, Indian Lake Drive, Indian Lake Court, and Dogwood Drive were resurfaced and repaired in 2019. A new traffic signal is planned for Killian Hill Road and Lilburn Industrial Way and construction begins soon on a new HAWK pedestrian signal (High-intensity Activated crossWalK) on Killian Hill Road at Shelly Lane.
