The Lilburn City Council voted 4-0 Monday to table a decision on an application for a 20,000-square-foot package store on 1.6 acres at 735 Pleasant Hill Road. The property is a vacant outparcel at the former Lowe’s store.

City code limits package stores to one for every 2,000 people in the city and sets a minimum lot area of 20,000 square feet and a minimum 8,000 square feet gross floor space. There are more than 13,000 people in the city limits and four existing package stores. As proposed, the site complies with all the required provisions. The building’s size and lot area far exceeds the city’s minimum. The city council will revisit the application on May 11.
