Main Street in Lilburn will be closed between Norman and First Streets Wednesday morning through Thursday afternoon for paving. Gwinnett County utility construction continues on the side streets in the Old Town area. Watch for lane closures and construction workers.
The paving and utility relocation is part of Lilburn’s Main Street Realignment Project. The reconfigured Main Street features a safer, more traditional intersection at Lawrenceville Highway and opportunities for future economic development. Two roundabouts have been added in the center of town to allow for smoother traffic flow to Old Town. The $3.5 million project is funded by the city, Gwinnett County, the State Road and Tollway Authority, and the Lilburn Community Improvement District.
