Following a special election held on May 19, Emil Powella was recently sworn in by Lilburn City Attorney Richard Carothers to fill the vacancy for City Council Post 4.

Powella received 160 of the 382 votes cast in the special election. Registered voters in Lilburn chose between five candidates competing for the vacant seat. Social distancing measures were in place to ensure the saftey of voters.

Council member Powella has previously served on the Lilburn Planning Commission and the Lilburn Merit Board.
