The Lilburn City Council voted Dec. 11 to dissolve the city’s Alcohol Review Board. The volunteer, council-appointed board was created in 2007 to author the city’s alcoholic beverage ordinance. The board has administered permitting and enforcement of the ordinance since its creation.

City staff will take over the ongoing duties of issuing and revoking alcohol licenses, as well as hear appeals concerning denial, suspension or revocation of licenses.

Mayor Johnny Crist commended alcohol review board members who, over the past decade, have contributed hundreds of hours of service to the community.
