The Lilburn City Council unanimously denied a deannexation request Monday by Landvision, LLC., owner of a shopping center at 440 Pleasant Hill Road. The property was legislatively annexed by Lilburn in December 2011. The 24,000-square-foot building on 3.9 acres houses 17 businesses and is located across the road from Berkmar High School between Burns Road and Berkmar School Drive.

Because the property would be the only one outside Lilburn city limits along that stretch of Pleasant Hill Road, city leaders felt deannexation could create confusion on matters of code enforcement and police jurisdiction between the city and county.
