Lilburn is considering changes to its zoning ordinance and map, which defines requirements for development activity within city limits. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation about the changes at 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall, 76 Main St. The Lilburn city council is scheduled to vote on the proposal at its June 13 meeting.

The proposed map expands the Corridor Overlay boundaries to include more properties along the city’s other major corridors, including Pleasant Hill Road, Beaver Ruin Road, Indian Trail Road, and Rockbridge Road.

The planning staff also recommends expanding the Town Center Overlay throughout Old Town and extending the mixed-use zoning category along Main Street, to encourage more businesses and high-density housing.
