The Henry County Board of Education announced at its Nov. 11 regular meeting the annual list of legislative priorities that will be presented to the county’s delegation in the Georgia General Assembly.

The list is divided into four main categories: earning opportunities and accountability; family and community involvement; supportive, safe and secure learning environments; and supporting effective teachers and leaders. Specific points include increasing or maintaining funding of certain programs, maintaining local control of key operational decisions, increased attention to student vaping, and allowing retired educators to return to the classroom without jeopardizing their benefits.
