The Lawrenceville City Council voted recently to annex and rezone four city-owned parcels of land totaling about 68 acres located along Sugarloaf Parkway. The properties are parcels in unincorporated Gwinnett County that were donated to the city over the course of several years.

The land will remain in city ownership and, once annexed, will be rezoned as residential. However, because the land is traversed by several streams and contains substantial floodplain and wetland areas, the city intends the property to remain as undeveloped greenspace.
