Lawrenceville-Suwanee ramps at I-85 to close for meter installation

As part of the I-85 Express Lanes Extension Project, Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will close the northbound and southbound on-ramps at Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road/Exit 111 to install ramp meter technology. Work will occur10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night Aug. 22 through Aug. 24.

This means a total closure for traffic at the on and off ramps at I-85, Exit 111/Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. A detour route will be in place and message boards will be placed to alert traffic prior to this closure.

Exact dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, pay attention and watch for workers. Information on work status and traffic conditions: Dial 511, 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
