Peachtree Café has reopened in its new home following a 4-month hiatus at 30 S. Clayton St. in Lawrenceville. The restaurant closed last fall as part of the redevelopment of the area into the new SouthLawn community.

Along with the reopening of the cafe, the apartments at SouthLawn are also open. The area is booming with new development including 23 single family homes and 135 townhomes under construction. The $200 million SouthLawn mixed-use town center development is located two blocks from the Historic Lawrenceville Square and adjacent to the Lawrenceville Lawn Park.

Lawrenceville is creating a 2.2-mile linear park, dubbed the “college corridor,” which will connect Georgia Gwinnett College to the city’s downtown district. The project includes streetscapes, a two-lane roadway, multi-use trails, bike path, roundabouts and landscaping. SouthLawn has direct access to the trail, creating an Atlanta BeltLine-like asset for the city.
