The Lawrenceville City Council voted recently to renew an annual contract for tree trimming services to prevent damage to the city’s electrical power lines. This service is performed continually throughout the year on a weekly basis.

The $175,000 contract is renewed with W.E. Hicks, Inc. doing business as Trees Unlimited.

Lawrenceville provides electrical power to more than 48,000 customers both within and outside city limits. Power outages can be avoided by preventing trees from growing into power lines. Modern power line pruning techniques can result in healthier, safer trees and reduced line clearing costs.
