The Lawrenceville City Council voted recently to renew an annual contract for utility wood pole inspection and replacement with Southeastern Wood Pole Inspectors, Inc. of Commerce, Georgia. The $150,000 annual contract is the fourth and final renewal option with this contractor. There is no price increase this year.

This contract provides inspection services for the city’s 4,000 utility poles. The city expects about 800 poles to be inspected each year. Replacement of unacceptable poles will primarily be done by Lawrenceville’s Electric Department or, if necessary, by separate contractor.
