The Lawrenceville city council recently approved $28,920 for the purchase of 24 automated external defibrillators used to treat sudden cardiac arrest. The equipment will be strategically positioned in city buildings and various city vehicles for the safety of employees and the public.

The purchase funded by the Small Furniture & Equipment budget is awarded to the lowest of four bidders, HeartSmart.com. Each Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 comes with English and Spanish language capability, cables, battery, a user guide, carrying case and two sets of adult defibrillation pads.
