The Lawrenceville city council voted Monday to prohibit pole signs. This signage is defined as any freestanding sign where the primary support is one post or column. Existing pole signs still in use are grandfathered into the ordinance. The change brings Lawrenceville’s sign ordinance in line with those of other Gwinnett cities.

In a separate issue, the city council tabled a decision on electronic message center signage.
