The Lawrenceville City Council approved a request recently to use asset forfeiture funds to purchase two Rockland Custom Cabinets. The cabinets will provide secure storage of weapons and other law enforcement equipment.

The $8,325 purchase, made through authorized dealer Madden and Associates, will supply cabinets for two previously purchased Tahoe K9 vehicles.

Asset forfeiture funds are considered proceeds from criminal activity. This includes money, firearms or other assets confiscated during the arrest and conviction of criminals. This can involve drug related crimes and other criminal and even civil offenses.
