In an ongoing effort to reduce thefts, Lawrenceville and Norcross police departments are reminding residents to remove firearms and valuables from their cars each evening. Tweets and other social posts using the hashtag #9PMRoutine reminds citizens to remove their valuables, lock their vehicles and exterior home doors and turn on outside lights and cameras.

The daily social media posts, accompanied by humorous GIFs and photos, are designed to reduce crimes of opportunity. Wallets, purses, guns, electronic devices and other valuables are taken from unlocked cars parked outdoors. The campaign is a gentle and entertaining way to remind the public to take part in reducing crime.
