Lawrenceville man dies in wreck
A Lawrenceville man died in a one-car auto accident Sunday morning, police said.
Bernard F. Jacques, 25, was killed while driving on New Hope Road between Alcovy River Drive and Palm Creek Court near Dacula, said Cpl. Edwin Ritter with Gwinnett County police.
A preliminary investigation indicates Jacques was driving south on New Hope Road when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of his white 1997 Honda Civic and struck a tree. He died at the scene.
Speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors, said Ritter in a press release. Jacques was not wearing a seat belt.
