Lawrenceville man arrested for trafficking meth
A Lawrenceville man was arrested Thursday for trafficking methamphetamine, according to Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman of the Cherokee County Police Department.
Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad agents arrested Danny Sanchez, 25, who was delivering five ounces of methamphetamine to an undercover agent in Woodstock at an undisclosed location, police said. The drugs have a street value of $22,000.
A loaded 9 mm handgun and $2,500 were discovered in Sanchez's car.
Agents began investigating the incident after intercepting a phone call to Sanchez from a drug supplier, who instructed Sanchez to transport narcotics from Lawrenceville to Woodstock.
Sanchez is being held without bond at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center. He is also charged with possession for a firearm during the commission of a felony.
