The Lawrenceville City Council voted recently to increase the city’s Occupation Tax for local businesses. According to city officials, this is the first increase in 25 years.

For businesses within city limits, the professional occupation tax rate will increase from $75 to $150 per calendar year. The professional corporation tax levy will increase from $150 to $300. For businesses and occupations other than professions and depending on the number of taxable employees, rates will also increase.

Lawrenceville’s business license rates remain one of the lowest in Gwinnett County, according to officials. A flat tax professional license in Duluth, Lilburn, Suwanee, Norcross and unicorporated Gwinnett County is $400.
