The Lawrenceville City Council recently approved an $83,105 contract to purchase in-car camera systems from Watchguard. The Lawrenceville Police Department currently uses Watchguard for their in-car video system. According to city documents, these cameras must be purchased sole source from Watchguard to be compatible with the police department’s current system.

Funds for the purchase will come from the Fiscal Year 2020 Vehicle Replacement Program funding. The equipment will be installed in 11 new police vehicles.

The in-car video system gives police the option to go back in time and capture video from events days after they happened.
