At Lawrenceville’s March 23 city council meeting held by teleconference, the city approved funding to provide emergency storm drain repair on Cross Hill Trail. Recent frequent and heavy rains have resulted in repeated flooding.

The project, which is already underway, includes demolition of the existing storm drain pipe and structures, removal and replacement of wooden and chain-link fences including gates. The contractor will fill the existing 36-inch pipe with flowable fill, and install new high-density polyethylene storm drain pipes and precast structures and headwalls. The project also includes erosion control with vegetation and sod.

Summit Construction & Development, LLC. was the lowest of three bidders and will complete the job for not more than $85,975.
