Atlanta attorney Lawrence Ashe was been named honorary consul to Poland in a ceremony Thursday at city hall.

The induction ceremony was hosted Robert Kupiecki, the ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the United States, and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

Ashe, the founding partner of the law firm Ashe, Rafuse & Hill, will be the first Atlanta resident to be installed into the position, which will cover the entire state of Georgia.
