For the C. W. Hill Elementary school at 386 Pine Street in Atlanta, it's the last day forever. The school started in September, 1947, and closes today and will merge to John Hope Elementary school.

Friday is the last day of school in public schools across metro Atlanta and most of the state. It's an early start to summer and a change in lifestyle for kids and parents alike. For C. W. Hill Elementary, at 386 Pine Street in Atlanta, it's the last day forever. The school, which started in September 1947 closed Friday. It students will attend John Hope Elementary school. Principal Yolonda Brown thanks Akhir Carswell, 5, as she receives a rose at Kindergarten class.
