Several lane closures scheduled on Johnson Ferry Road for Friday have been postponed, Sandy Springs officials recently announced.
The city now says those lane closures will not occur until Sept. 23. At that time, the two eastbound lanes of Johnson Ferry Road between Sandy Springs Circle and Roswell Road will close for two weeks.
The lane closures are happening as a 550-ton crane lifts six, 100-foot trusses to aid with roof support on the Performing Arts Center at City Springs. The crane will arrive to the job site in sections due to its size – 65-feet by 30-feet, officials said.
The crane’s boom will expand 197 feet from the ground.
The ongoing construction is a part of the City Springs downtown project. Monitor City Springs' ongoing progress at citysprings.com.
