Work to build the left shoulder of the interstate will create nightly left hand lane closures on I-985 north from Spout Springs Road to Mundy Mill/State Route 53 in Flowery Branch from 8 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. through Oct. 5. Additional work on this project will shift traffic on Thurmond Tanner Parkway.

Currently paving activities are scheduled to be complete by Tuesday and traffic will shift from the inside lanes to the outside lanes of Thurmond Tanner Parkway between Avery Drive and Tanners Creek Drive. This traffic shift will allow the inside lanes and median to be constructed.

Exact dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, pay attention and watch for workers. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions: call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
