Lake Peachtree dredging begins

The long-awaited dredging of Lake Peachtree has begun in Peachtree City. Fayette County’s contractor has installed silt fencing and tree-saving barriers in the vicinity, and Drake Field will be closed until the project is completed in late May or early June. Residents are asked to stay out of the construction zone and to use caution when driving on Ga. Hwy. 54 eastbound near City Hall, due to large trucks and other heavy equipment using a temporary driveway in the area.
