Fayette County’s Water Guardians program has scheduled a cleanup of Peachtree City’s Lake Kedron on May 18.

Volunteers in kayaks or canoes or on foot will assemble at 7:45 a.m. at the boat dock parking lot off Peachtree Parkway North. Each person will be provided with a trash grabber, trash bags and bottled water, but must bring their own life vest, hat, sunscreen or any other desired accessories. Volunteers must also bring a completed liability waiver to the event; contact WaterGuardians@fayettecountyga.gov for waivers and other information. In case of bad weather, all registered participants will be notified by email about rescheduling.

Lake Kedron is a 235-acre reservoir that stores about 1 billion gallons of water for use by the city and other parts of the county.
