Kroger to give teachers free supplies
Kroger will give away $220,000 worth of school supplies to Atlanta-area teachers on Aug. 6.
To collect supplies, teachers need to show up with a valid Georgia teacher ID. Supplies include copier paper, construction paper, hand sanitizer, dry erase markers, facial tissues and other items, valued at $48. The event is part of Kroger's Earning Plus Learning program.
Supplies will be distributed from 9 a.m. until noon Aug. 6 at two locations: the Atlanta Civic Center at 359 Piedmont Ave., in Atlanta, and the North Atlanta Trade Center at 1700 Jeurgens Court in Norcross.
“Every year teachers receive less and less to spend on school supplies,” Glynn Jenkins, spokesman for Kroger’s Atlanta Division said in a statement. “This event is designed to provide our educators with some of the basic classroom items they need to help instruct our children.”
