Elizabeth Kiss will continue to serve as president of Agnes Scott College for another six years, the board of trustees announced Tuesday.

Kiss has been at the private women's college since 2006. During her tenure the college's national reputation has grown and attracted a higher caliber of students and faculty, board chairman Clyde Tuggle said in a news release.

Under Kiss' leadership the college created new scholarship programs and lead successful fundraising campaigns. During the last fiscal year the college received more than $8 million in new gifts and pledges -- the highest amount since 2004.

"It’s been a wonderful four years," Kiss said. "In addition to the talented and dedicated students, faculty, staff and alumnae who have become such a large part of my life these past few years, Agnes Scott itself continues to amaze me with its power to transform lives for the better."
