The grand opening of a building for KIPP STRIVE Primary School was held Tuesday as 200 kindergartners and first graders start their school year.

The West End charter school was housed in KIPP STRIVE Academy last year before a fundraising campaign helped build the $10 million elementary school facility.

KIPP STRIVE Primary School will eventually grow to serve about 400 students in kindergarten through fourth grade.
