Work has begun to widen Kimball Bridge Road (Ga. 120) in Johns Creek between State Bridge and Jones Bridge roads, city officials announced.

The city is working with the Georgia Department of Transportation to widen 1.25 miles of Kimball Bridge from two to four lanes and add center left-turn lanes, deceleration lanes at subdivision entrances, and lighting.

Also, 10-foot-wide trails on each side of the street will improve connections between the sidewalks and trails on Jones Bridge to Alpharetta’s trail network, officials said. The project is to be completed in the fall of 2018, weather permitting.
