Kidsignment sale in Lawrenceville

Kidsignment sale in Lawrenceville started Tuesday.

Kidsignments is a semi-annual kids consignment sale held at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville. This year more than 1,000 sellers offer items like kids clothing, maternity wear, toys, books, chairs, shoes and beddings for a greatly reduced price in this 30,000-square-foot location.

Lines formed hours before the doors opened. The sale is held in February and August.

Pat Carpenter and her daughter-in-law Allison Carpernter, both of Hoschton, sort items before checking out. "This is a team effort," said Pat as she buys clothes and shoes for her 2-year-old grandson. "Even with economic hard times, it's still a good dea."

Kim Dockery of Loganville shops for toys for her 5-year-old son and uses a thrash can to hold all her buys. She waited over an hour in line to come to this first day sale. She said her budget is about $200.

Robert Easterling of Lawrenceville, with a trash bin to hold purchases, waits in line while his fiance shops for baby items. Easterling said they are looking for a baby stroller and car seat for their 5-month old daughter and plan to spend no more than $200.

Customers look through boxes. Jerri Cunningham, who created the sale, said all recalled items were pulled.
