Former Sen. Bob Kerrey, D- Neb., will serve as the commencement speaker for LaGrange College, school officials announced Monday.

Graduation will be held May 19 on campus. Kerrey and Paula Lawton Bevington, an Atlanta philanthropist and businesswoman, will receive honorary degrees.

Kerrey, who is running for his old seat in the Senate, previously served as president of the The New School in New York.
