State officials are accepting comments until Dec. 13 on disturbance of a stream buffer to repair a dam on private property in the Kennesaw area.

Delany Properties proposes to impact 12,294 square feet of stream buffer along a tributary to Allatoona Creek to make the repair on Stilesboro Road about six miles from the intersection of Old Highway 41 and Stilesboro Road.

The variance would encroach within the 25-foot state waters buffer, increasing the toe of the slope to meet Cobb County standards, removing trees and vegetation on the dam and installing an emergency spillway.

Site plans may be reviewed and comments submitted to Program Manager, NonPoint Source Program, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Unit, 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW, Suite 1462 E., Atlanta, GA 30334.
