Kennesaw State University will soon have a new vice president of student affairs.

Eric Arneson, currently the vice chancellor for student affairs and campus climate at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, will join Kennesaw State on Feb. 10.

As vice president of student affairs, Arneson will also serve as KSU’s chief strategic officer for students. He will help students “navigate their climate experiences through activities, learning and non-academic growth opportunities,” the university said.

He will also serve on the KSU president’s cabinet and advise college leadership on student life issues while overseeing the dean of students, counseling services, fraternity and sorority life, recreational and intramural sports, cultural and community centers and student veteran services.

KSU President Pamela Whitten said Arneson has a “proven track record” as a leader who puts the needs of students first by creating an environment where they can succeed.

Arneson added KSU is a university “on the rise,” and said his previous experience will help the institution achieve its mission of student success.

“What most drew me to this opportunity is Kennesaw State’s intentionality of consistently moving forward,” he said. “This could not be a better fit for me, and I look forward to being part of Owl Nation.”
