Kennesaw State forms art school

Kennesaw State University renamed the department of visual arts to be the School of Art and Design, officials announced Monday.

The move reflects student interest in the area as the number of art majors has increased by more than 70 percent.

Joe Thomas served as the department chairman and will be the director of the new school.
