The Kennesaw City Council approved Wednesday a revised plan by Fuqua Development for redeveloping the Castle Lake Mobile Homes Park on 52 acres at 1650 Cobb Parkway at Barrett Parkway.

During the special called meeting, the council members voted to reduce the retail square footage from 450,000 to 305,000.

Also, they agreed to replace 20 townhome units with 180 apartments for ages 55 and older.

However, the apartments cannot be used for Section 8 or multi-family.

Residential parking spaces per unit will be reduced from 2 to 1.5.
