The Kennesaw City Council voted 5-0 Tuesday to award three construction contracts, totaling around $8.8 million - all to the lowest bidders.

Lewallen Construction Co. will be paid $5,258,903 for construction and improvements to Dallas Street/Watts Drive, City Hall Plaza and Kennesaw Police Department parking lot.

Vertical Earth Inc. will receive $3,482,450 for construction and improvements for Stanley Road and Collins Road.

Chatfield Contracting Inc. will be paid $75,023 to replace 130 feet of 48-inch stormwater culvert under Deerfield Lane.

All of the funding will come from the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
