Kennesaw residents and business owners will pay a monthly fee of $2.15 for street lights.

The Kennesaw City Council approved this fee on April 16.

City officials established a street light district in the city on April 2.

The $2.15 service fee will cover the cost to provide and maintain the street lights citywide.

The new law establishes standards for their construction, exempted parcels, a process for temporary suspension from collection of the fee, a right of appeal and procedures to be followed by developers in all new subdivisions and repeals inconsistent, duplicative provisions and ordinances.
