The Kennesaw Parks and Recreation Department recently opened applications for summer positions.

Positions for the All-Star Summer Day Camp - for ages 6 to 12 - will include directors, an assistant director and counselors and, for the Splash Pad, a lead attendant and an attendant.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a CPR/First Aid/AED Certification or be willing and able to be certified.

Throughout the summer, the staff will be evaluated continuously and provided with feedback to enhance their performance, according to a city statement.

A low camper-to-staff ratio of 10:1 is maintained “for maximum safety and an enjoyable camp experience,” the statement added.

The Splash Pad at Swift-Cantrell Park is a 3,200-square-foot, family-friendly area for water play.

Controlled by motion sensors, the Splash Pad consists of a fountain spray, ground geyser, jet stream, magic mist and multiple sea silhouettes.

Among the responsibilities of Splash Pad attendants are assisting patrons, collecting admission fees and giving first aid.
