A new Kennesaw service fee will be charged, beginning this month, to provide and maintain street lights throughout the city.

City officials also have established standards for the construction of street lights and established procedures to be followed by developers in all new subdivisions.

The first bills will be sent out Sept. 14 for the month of August with a due date of Sept. 30.

Rates are calculated as:

  • Single-family residential: $2.15/month
  • Multi-family residential: $2.15/unit/month (using 90 percent of actual units)
  • Commercial, industrial and institutional: $2.15/unit/month at 0.95 units/acre
