Kennesaw to block railroad crossing during concerts

So many people have gotten stuck in the tracks at a Kennesaw railroad crossing that police plan to block it occasionally.

The Kennesaw Police Department will bar foot traffic at the Cherokee Street crossing over the CSX tracks during special events at Depot Park, starting with outdoor concerts there on Saturday and on July 3. People will be diverted to an underpass connecting the park with Main Street.

The detour was prompted by "recent incidents involving pedestrians, on foot and in wheelchairs, getting stuck in the railroad track," according to the city's website.
