A $44,450 contract was awarded Monday to Dominica Recreation Products by the Kennesaw City Council for playground design, equipment and installation in Adams Park.

The present playground equipment in the park, for children ages 5 to 12, was installed in the mid-1990s and was no longer sufficient to serve the needs of the city’s growing population and the increased demand for playspace, according to the council agenda.

Adams Park comprises 33 acres at 2753 Watts Drive.
