Keith Meadows, newly selected as College Park chief of police, was sworn in at the regularly scheduled council meeting Aug. 3 at College Park City Hall. Meadows served nearly 30 years with Atlanta Police Department, appointed to major in 2010 by Atlanta Police Chief George Turner, overseeing homicide, special victims and fugitives unit. Meadows also served as the commander of the School Detective Section, overseeing police services for Atlanta Public Schools System. Meadows developed regulations improving the safety for APS students.
