Keep Cobb Beautiful will provide an opportunity for you to get rid of items such as paint, batteries and lawn care products taking up space in your garage or basement.

The annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 27 at Jim Miller Park. This event allows residents to safely dispose of materials that would harm the environment and water system.

Items that will be accepted at the event include mercury, aerosols, batteries, adhesives, paint and paint-related products, flammables, photo chemicals, lawn care products, fluorescent bulbs, artist supplies, swimming pool chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, antifreeze, cleaners and used motor oil.

Organizers will not collect ammunition, pharmaceuticals, agricultural waste, radioactive materials and biohazardous and biomedical waste.

Jim Miller Park is at 2245 Callaway Road SW in Marietta. For more information, call 770-528-1135 or email Keep Cobb Beautiful at KeepCobbBeautiful@CobbCounty.org.
