A woman was killed after her car left a Gwinnett County road early Saturday morning and crashed into a utility pole.

She was identified by police as Shantier Dukes, 29, of Atlanta. Investigators have not determined what caused the crash, but alcohol and speed are possible factors, according to Gwinnett police.

Dukes was traveling east on Dawson Boulevard in a white Hyundai Sonata when her car left the road on a curve just north of McDonough Drive, police said. The Hyundai hit the utility pole head-on.

Officers responded to the crash scene just after 2 a.m. Dukes later died as a result of her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
