The Jonesboro Police Department recently placed into service its newest member, a K-9 officer named Kleo handled by Officer Marcus Gerald, according to the city’s March newsletter. Assigned to the B shift, the pair currently works 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Kleo is owned by Officer Gerald, and the city is reaping the benefit of having a K-9 on duty. Kleo, a 2 year old

Belgian Shepherd, is certified in all narcotics and tracking. The new team will be utilized for traffic enforcement,

community events, public relations and assisting other agencies.
