A Jonesboro man who moved to New Jersey three weeks ago was gunned down over the weekend as he stood with a group of people in a residential area, police said.

Lamar A. Glover, 23, was killed Saturday in Jersey City, according to a police report cited by The Jersey Journal.

Authorities said a black Lexus pulled up around 4 p.m. and a man got out and opened fire on the group, striking Glover in the head and another man in the forearm. The second wounded man was treated and released from a local hospital.

A prosecutor told the newspaper that Glover was staying with acquaintances and had moved to the area three weeks earlier.

The attack may have been caught on surveillance video from a nearby corner convenience store. Police would not disclose a possible motive.

Police were seeking the public's help in finding Glover's killer.
